Borderless Gandhi was officially launched on 2nd October 2015, with the 2nd October being the most important date for the organisation. Not only is this Mahatma Gandhi's birthday, it is the United Nations International Day of Nonviolence.
To mark and celebrate this special day in Perth, Borderless Gandhi hosted a special Northbridge Piazza public screening of the 1982 movie, Gandhi, an historical drama directed by Richard Attenborough. The Lord Mayor of the City of Perth, Hon Lisa M. Scaffidi, Rabia Siddique and Nilesh Makwana recorded messages that were screened before the movie.
Event Partners for the evening - Northbridge Piazza and Perth Cultural Centre - helped add to the colour of the evening by providing trendy bean bags that lit up in various colours to complement the Borderless Gandhi signature shade of orange, allowing the audience to sit and relax while watching the movie.
