Borderless Gandhi was launched in 2015, and 2nd October was chosen to be the most important date for the organisation, being not only the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi but also International Day of Nonviolence by the United Nations.

To mark and celebrate this special day in Perth, Borderless Gandhi showcased the Gandhi movie from 1982, directed by Richard Attenborough at the Northbridge Piazza. The Hon Lord Mayor of City of Perth, Lisa M-Scaffidi, Rabia Siddique and Nilesh Makwana recorded messages that was shown to the public before the screening of the Gandhi movie.

Event Partners for the evening; Northbridge Piazza and Perth Cultural Centre, provided trendy bean bags for the audience to sit and relax while watching the movie, all lighting up in various colours in addition to the Borderless Gandhi shade of orange.
